OK, as noted at the close of Net Poker, we're taking a holiday break effective around Thanksgiving and resuming after we ring in the new year. (My moderating of the netgames list will continue through the break, however.)
We're a little pressed for time -- so we're going to make this qualifying question for the second main game of the current Hot Dice episode -- as well as the first audience game.
If you're the closest to the right answer to this question, you play against Eddie in Game 2. If you're the second closest, you get to play the audience game. Any ties for distance are broken by how soon you respond to the following question...
On July 24, 2011, at 10:00am, we watched a GSN rerun of "The Newlywed Game". The three couples combined to score how many points? Please respond in increments of five points.
Let's make the answers due Sunday at 8:00pm EST/7:00pm CST (most of the U.S. goes through the time change this weekend).
(time passes)
And we're done. Some high point totals turned in by the three couples. The winning couple had 60 points, the second place team had 50 and third had 35. Add 'em up and you've got...

...145. Now, the closest to the right answer is in the next main game.
Deo 135And it's Deo. Standby. Your main game with Eddie will start in a few days. Next closest plays the audience game.
Brian Moore 105And it's Brian. Another great turnout. Keep watching for more ways to play and win. Thanks to all for playing.
====================================================================== ('80s "High Rollers" theme) David Hammond: Net Spin-off has the strategy of poker and the excitement of winning CY$100,000. Join me, David Hammond, for all the fun of Net Spin-off -- only VBS. ======================================================================Doug: Welcome back. During the break, Brian Moore won the right to play our audience game. Brian, you get to play for this.
Scarlett: It's an empty pizza box! (audience laughs) That's right, this pizza box comes courtesy of yesterday's lunch break at the VBS 63 lounge. We've even emptied out all the crumbs and pepperonis to leave you with a bit of grease.
Doug: Joy. An empty pizza box. Now, I hope you'll agree with us that's an odd prize. So here's an even better prize to shoot for.
Scarlett: Oh, it's a great prize and stays on the Italian theme. It's a trip to Tuscany, Italy. (audience cheers) You and a guest will fly first class, round trip to Tuscany, Italy where you'll spend six nights at a luxury hotel. Enjoy the extraordinary countryside, fine art and culture of Tuscany -- compliments of Club Universe.
We're also throwing in CY$5000 to spend on souvenirs -- to make this even better prize worth CY$11,550.
Doug: And you can win one of those prizes in Odd or Even.

Doug: Simple stuff. Each time you roll an odd number with a single dice cube, you win a letter in the word "ODD". If you roll an even number, you win a letter in the word "EVEN".
Once you collect all the letters in the word "ODD", you win the pizza box. If you collect all the letters in the word "EVEN", you're off to Italy.
The moment you're one letter away from the pizza box, I'll give you a chance to bail out and take CY$1000 for each letter you've won in the word "EVEN".
Right now, take the cube, give it a roll -- and let's head for Italy.
(Brian rolls)

(a few groans)
Doug: And a 3 to start. That's one letter for "ODD".

Doug: Brian, another 5, another 3 or a 1 means you get the empty pizza box *with* grease. So it's decision time. I can give you CY$2000 right now to bail out -- a grand for each letter in "EVEN" that you have presently -- or you may roll on to try and roll two more even numbers and win that Italian vacation.
What's your decision?
(audience shouts suggestions)
Brian: Doug, I'll keep the two grand.
Doug: Stopping at CY$2000. Very well. But -- of course, we are Brian Williams types of folks who adhere to the belief that your right to know supercedes your right to exist. Had you rolled again, what would've happened?
This doesn't count -- just roll.
(Brian rolls)

Doug: You would've ended up with the pizza box. Good call, Brian. Enjoy your CY$2000.
Back with another main game -- in a moment.
