Audience Game Friends, due to time constraints, we're going to play a truncated version of The Jackpot Game. In the interest of spreading the wealth, this qualifying question is only open to those who have not played in a main or audience game in this, our second, episode of Hot Dice.
The player closest to the right answer, high or low, gets to play.
On July 22nd, 2011, at 10:00pm Central, we watched an episode of "Lingo" hosted by Bill Engvall on GSN. To start the game, one player from each team drew a Lingo ball; the player who drew the higher number meant his/her team went first. What was the winning number in this draw?
In deference to the Thanksgiving week ahead, your answers are due Monday, November 28th, at 8:00am EST/7:00am CST.
(time passes)
And that's time. Hope everyone enjoyed a festive meal with treasured loved ones.
As for this qualifying question, it was a tricky one...

...a player on Team 2 drew a stopper -- meaning Team 1's 11 won the toss-up by default.
Looks like the lowest number wins our draw -- and it is...
Matt Taylor 42...Matt Taylor. Matt, standby for your abbreviated Jackpot Game.
====================================================================== Men dressed like the seven dwarves: (singing) I owe, I owe, Net Debt is here, let's go. (dwarves whistle) I owe -- I owe, I owe, I owe. (they still sing as announcer says...) Voice guy: Get out of the red with Kevin Kolsen on Net Debt. Only VBS. ======================================================================Doug: And we're back. Matt Taylor has just won the right to play The Jackpot Game. Matt, we normally play for a jackpot full of prizes. However, Christmas and the holiday seasons are around the corner. So, we didn't know what to get you. So we got you cyber-cash.

Doug: Yeah, we've got CY$25,000 in the jackpot. Now, here's the thing. We don't have time to play our full high-low card game. So, here's what we're going to do.
By random assignment, we have six playing cards from a regulation 52-card deck hiding behind the letters in "JACKPOT" -- plus one wild card.
We'll give you two chances to draw the wild card that's hiding on the board. Find the wild card -- and you're going to go wild because you will have won the CY$25,000.
If you don't find the wild card on your first attempt, you may take an offer of CY$250 times the value of the card. If you draw a face card, I'll make it worth CY$2500. An Ace is worth CY$5000.
If you don't find the wild card on the second and final attempt, you're stuck with CY$250 times the value of the card, CY$2500 for royalty or CY$5000 for an Ace.
So -- for CY$25,000 -- tell me which letter hides the wild card.
Matt: I'll take the C.
Doug: All right, if the C hides the wild card, you're an instant winner of CY$25,000. What's behind C, please?

Doug: OK, not the wild card. But it's the 4 of Spades. Multiply that by CY$250 and I'll offer you CY$1000 to stop right now -- or you may give it back and pick one more letter. What's your pleasure?
(audience shouts suggestions)
Matt: I'll give it back and take the O.
Doug: Giving back CY$1000. Last chance to go wild for CY$25,000. What's behind O, please?

Doug: Only way you could've gone backwards is with the P next door. It was hiding the 3 of Diamonds.
Matt, enjoy the CY$25,000. Next time we get together, Eddie Timanus will attempt to win his fourth straight game -- entitling him to the mega roll for CY$1,000,000. Deo will try to stop him -- and perhaps start a winning streak of his.
Until next time, make it a great day, keep the faith and treasure your loved ones.
