Episode 2 Game 1
====================================================================== Scarlett Gray: "The Andrew Dice Clay Celebrity Roast" (audience laughs) will not be seen tonight -- because we're still working on bleeping out the obscenities. In its place, some other dice. ======================================================================Scarlett: Donald Trump fired La Toya Jackson twice.
Knowing that could help you win big on -- Hot Dice.
Scarlett: From CDM Enterprises, a division of Trax Productions, here's your host for Hot Dice, Doug Morris.
Doug: Thank you, Scarlett and hellooooo, everybody. Welcome to Hot Dice -- where one lucky roll could lead to a payoff of CY$50,000.
Doug: Save some applause, please, for our returning players, Eddie Timanus and Shawn Wells.
Doug: On the last show, Shawn won the first game -- and then lost the win when Eddie won the second game. After two games, Eddie has banked CY$34,350 and Shawn has CY$9950. Let's put away all that loot and start this important game.
Doug: Now they know how to play Hot Dice. For those who don't, the object of the game is to win a toss-up question and build a pot of cyber-money by rolling the dice.
After we play six rounds, we go to a catch-up round. The player who banks more cyber-money at the end of the catch-up round wins the game -- and goes to the Bonus Bonanza where a CY$50,000 payoff is waiting to be won.
Best of luck to both of you -- especially because you each have a loss against you. Unless you manage to roll a double and it leads to the "lose loss" space on the double decision board, we're going to say goodbye to the second place finisher of this game.
First question in the game. Hands on the buzzers please -- and away we go.
Leeza Gibbons, Mary Hart or Nancy O'Dell. Who had her own self-titled daytime talk show on NBC?
Doug: Shawn.
Shawn: Leeza Gibbons.
Doug: That's the lady. (audience applause) Shawn, you know this from the last show. I note this for the benefit of those looking in for the first time that correct answer has earned you a free roll of the dice. We'll seed the pot with CY$100 per point. You'll then have the option to roll again or bank the contents of the pot.
First, your free roll.
Doug: And it's a 3 and 4 -- times 100 means we seed the pot with CY$700. For the rest of this round, Shawn, the next time you roll a 7, you'll bust -- meaning all of the moolah in the pot goes away and you score nothing for the round.
Doug: Also, in the event you roll a double, you'll have a double decision to make -- have another CY$100 per point added to the pot or take whatever is behind the corresponding space on the board. There's cyber-money behind some of those spaces, surprises behind others, a bust behind one space -- and the aforementioned "lose loss".
Right now, do you want to bank the CY$700 and start Round 2 -- or roll again to try and add more to the pot?
(audience shouts suggestions)
Shawn: Gimmie those dice!!!!
Doug: Excited choice, low roll. A 1 and a 3 add CY$400 to the pot. Bank the CY$1100 or roll again?
(audience shouts suggestions)
Shawn: I wanna double that score. I need another roll.
Doug: Well, another 3-1 roll brings the pot up to CY$1500. Roll again or bank the 15 benjamins?
(audience shouts suggestions)
Shawn: I want a little more.
(a few groans from the crowd)
Doug: Ask and ye shall receive. A 2 and a 1 represent an addition of CY$300 to the pot. Bank the 1800 or try to a roll a bigger number?
(audience shouts suggestions)
Shawn: Can I get some new dice? (a few laughs from the crowd) I guess I will bank the CY$1800.
Doug: Eighteen C-notes headed your way.
Doug: I know what your thinking, Shawn. The name of the game's *Hot* Dice. They went cold on you. Let's see if the rolls get better for one of you after this next question.
According to a recent University of Michigan study, are kids age 13-17 more likely to drink or smoke weed?
Doug: Shawn.
Shawn: Drinking?
Doug: The study shows 53% of teens are drinking; 28% smoke weed. You're right.
Doug: (shakes head) I'm tearing this question up. (rips it up) That's just too depressing. Plus it's a Michigan study.
Doug: Shawn can't wait to take the free roll and I can't blame him. A 5 and a 3 seed the pot with 800. Bank the moolah or roll again?
(audience shouts suggestions)
Shawn: These dice look better now. Let's roll 'em again!
Doug: Wow. Big roll. The 6 and 5 bring the pot up to CY$1900. Bank now and you roughly double your stake. A 7 will wipe you out.
(audience shouts suggestions)
Shawn: Let's bank that cash.
Doug: Nineteen C-notes added to your bank.
Doug: Shawn, you now have CY$3700. Eddie still yet to score in this game. Round 3 commences now with this question.
Cindy Crawford, Debra Winger or Julia Roberts. Who played Richard Gere's love interest in "An Office and a Gentleman"?
Doug: Eddie.
Eddie: That would be the lovely Julia Roberts.
Doug: No it was Debra Winger. And that means Shawn gets another free roll of the dice.
Doug: And he starts with a 3 and a 2 for CY$500.
(audience shouts suggestions)
Shawn: Let's roll 'em again.
Doug: Another big 11 ups the pot to CY$1600. What'cha think? Bank 'em or roll 'em?
Shawn: Let's bank 'em.
Doug: Another CY$1600 in your bank.
Doug: Shawn now up to CY$5300. Eddie still yet to score. Next toss-up question.
