Qualifying Question

And we're back with Episode 5 of Hot Dice. Will Schmarder returns with a record of 1-1 and he has banked CY$64,500.

We're looking for someone to oppose him in the next game. If you were in a main game of Episode 2, 3 or 4, please sit on your hands and let someone else in on the fun.

Time for qualifying. The player closest to the right answer, high or low, challenges Will.

On Saturday, August 14, 2010, at 6:30pm Central, we watched a rerun of "Wheel of Fortune". To clarify this was a rerun, the free spin disc was on the wheel in this episode -- since replaced with a free play space. The three players in this episode collected how much in cash and prizes? The correct answer to this question does include any bonus round winnings. Please respond to the nearest dollar.

Let's make the qualifying answers due Tuesday at 10:00pm EDT/9:00pm CDT.

(time passes)

Time! Was I impersonating Vernon Kay or the judge from "$ale of the Century"? You make the call. Meantime, here's the right answer.

The red player won $12,900, the yellow pocketed $7100 and the blue player won the main game with $18,000 -- but didn't win the bonus round.

Who's the closest?

Michael Clifford $47,230

It's Michael -- versus Will on Hot Dice -- next.

Scarlett: We're not lighting up the pitfalls twice.
Instead, let's play the game of -- Hot Dice.

Scarlett: From CDM Enterprises, a division of Trax Productions, here's your host for Hot Dice, Doug Morris.

(audience cheers)

Doug: Helloooooo, everybody. Thank you, Scarlett and welcome to Hot Dice. Guaranteed to be a lot more fun than that game with the pitfalls.

Last time out, Will Schmarder's first trip to the Bonus Bonanza paid off quite well with more the CY$50,000.

Doug: Will's back with total winnings of CY$64,500. Challenging him is Michael Clifford. (audience cheers)

Doug: Will, welcome back. Michael, since you're assured of playing in our next game, we'll take a moment before then to chat with you.

Right now, we want to go ahead and start this game.

Doug: In Hot Dice, your mission, should you decide to accept it, is to win a toss-up question and then build a pot of cyber-money by rolling the dice.

After we play six rounds, we go to a catch-up round. The player who banks more cyber-money at the end of the catch-up round wins the game.

You keep playing until you lose two games. And if you win four consecutive games, you roll for CY$1,000,000.

(audience cheers)

Doug: So good luck to you both and here comes the first question.
