Qualifying Question We're about to start Episode 6 of Hot Dice. Michael Clifford returns with a record of 1-0 and he has banked CY$7800.
We're looking for someone to oppose him in the next game. If you were in a main game of Episode 3, 4 or 5, please sit on your hands and let someone else in on the fun.
Time for qualifying. The player closest to the right answer, high or low, challenges Michael.
Here's your query...
On Saturday, March 3, 2012, at 6:30pm Central, we watched a rerun of "Wheel of Fortune"; this episode originally aired during the previous season. In this episode's jackpot round, the jackpot went unclaimed. How much money was in the jackpot? Please respond in increments of $50 and please make sure your answer is higher than $5000.
(time passes)
And time's up. To give you an idea of when this episode originally aired, Vanna wished every a Happy St. Patrick's Day near the end of the show. With that said...
...that jackpot went up to $8850. Who's the closest?
Nikolai Wataja $8,650Sharp shootin', Tex. Off by just 200. Can ya tell I'm ready for "Dallas" to come back to TV?
Anyhoo, it's Nikolai Wataja playing against Michael Clifford on Hot Dice -- in a bit.
====================================================================== Scarlett Gray: "Square Dancing with the Stars" (audience laughs) will not be seen tonight. And -- after all -- haven't you had enough dancing on a game network? Thought so. ======================================================================Scarlett: Senator Gary Hart had an affair with Donna Rice.
Knowing that could help you win big on -- Hot Dice.
Scarlett: From CDM Enterprises, a division of Trax Productions, here's your host for Hot Dice, Doug Morris.
(audience cheers)
Doug: You know the irony about that? I saw a campaign button on eBay the other day that said, "Score with Gary Hart in '88". (audience laughs) In any event, thanks for the welcome. Helloooooo, everybody. Time for another game of Hot Dice. Let's welcome our players, Michael Clifford and Nikolai Wataja.
Doug: Michael is from the garden state of New Jersey; he is back with winnings of CY$7800 and a win to his credit. Nikolai, we can tell you, is joining us from Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. Nikolai, because you're assured of playing in the next game, we'll take a moment and meet you then.
Meantime, let's go ahead and start this game.
Doug: In Hot Dice, if you win a toss-up question, you'll get to build a pot of cyber-money by rolling the dice.
After we play six rounds, we go to a catch-up round. The player who has banked more cyber-money at the end of the catch-up round wins the game.
You keep playing until you lose two games. And if you win four consecutive games, you roll for CY$1,000,000.
So, hands on the buzzers, please, and let's start with this first question.
