Episode 9 Bonus Game 2

Scarlett: Rob Van Winkle is better known as Vanilla Ice.
Knowing that could help you win big on -- Hot Dice.

Scarlett: From CDM Enterprises, a division of Trax Productions, here's your host for Hot Dice, Doug Morris.

(audience cheers)

Doug: I thank you Scarlett. Helloooooo, everybody and welcome back to Hot Dice. Let's welcome back our returning player who's been on quite a roll -- literally -- Nikolai Wataja.

(audience cheers)

Doug: Nikolai's back with CY$83,550. (more cheers) Just to catch you up on how he's fared, he won four straight games, qualified for the Mega Roll and, unfortunately, didn't win the million.

He's now working on a new four-game winning streak -- but he has a loss against him. Two losses knock him out. We'll talk more about that later.

But for those who haven't seen your reign of terror on this show, Nikolai, please remind the folks about yourself.

Nikolai: Well, I am from Thunder Bay, Ontario, I've been taking the broadcasting program up there for the past couple of years. I'm into a lot of sports, particularly hockey, and sometimes baseball. And I'm ready to roll!

Doug: Well, let's start your Bonus Bonanza with a free roll of the dice. On this free roll, we seed the pot with CY$250 times the value of your roll.

(Nikolai rolls)

(scattered cheers)

Doug: And what a great start -- CY$2750.

Now as you know, you're risking everything in the pot with every roll of the dice. This time, each roll is worth an additional CY$500 per point. But while the stakes are higher from those of the main game, the risks are higher as well.

Doug: Anytime the dice total 5, 7 or 9, that's a bust -- meaning you lose everything in the pot and the game's over.

Doug: We also have the double decision board -- which is now active. Hiding in three of these screens, we have three different amounts of cyber-money. Each is worth at least CY$20,000 with a guarantee one of them is worth CY$50,000.

(audience cheers)

Doug: However, the remaining screens hide busts -- which also force you to forfeit your winnings in this bonus game -- and puts and end to same.

Doug: For winning the game, we give you one gold coin. This protects you from one bust. If you run into any bust in any form, you must surrender the coin and roll again.

So -- knowing the risks and rewards -- want to bank or risk?

(audience shouts suggestions)

Nikolai: I'll give it one roll for sure.

(Nikolai rolls)

(audience cheers)

Doug: WOW! *Another* yo-leven. That, in effect, triples the pot to CY$8250. You still have a gold coin in hand. *But* you can only stop the game right after you've rolled a safe number or added at least CY$20,000 from the double decision board.

Bank 'em or roll 'em?

(audience shouts suggestions)

Nikolai: Let's give it another go.

(Nikolai rolls)

(audience cheers)

Doug: And an 8 adds CY$4000 to the pot. You're up to 12-grand-plus. Question now is -- do you risk it all in the hopes of rolling a double -- or bank the moolah and run like a bandit?

(audience shouts suggestions)

Nikolai: I'm going to bank what I have.

Doug: And what an addition to your bank.

(audience cheers) (audience cheers)

Doug: Grand total now of CY$95,800. Congratulations. *But* -- we've gotta know what would've happened if you risked 12-large-and-change. After all, we are Bobbie Battista types of folks -- (a few laughs from the crowd) -- almost a shame you guys only know her from The Onion News Network.

In any event, Nikolai, your right to know overrides your right to exist. We gotta know what would've happened if you rolled again. Roll 'em, please.

(Nikolai rolls)

Doug: And that would've meant a surrender of the coin. You'd have to roll again. Roll 'em, again, please.

(Nikolai rolls)

Doug: And that would've been another four large. We've got a little time. Take one more "what if" roll, please.

(Nikolai rolls)

(scattered woos and groans)

Doug: That would've been a double decision of a CY$6000 addition to the pot -- or what, on the board?

(audience cheers)

Doug: A loss of the whole pot -- that's what. Nikolai Wataja is knocking on the door of Six-Digit Land. He could reach it in the next main game. We'll meet his challenger and start a new game -- after this.
