Episode 3 Game 1

======================================================================

(Guy Lombardo's version of "Auld Lang Syne" plays in the background)

Ryan Morris: From all of us at the Net Match Game - Hollywood Squares
Hour...

Doug Morris: ...Net Poker...

D.J. Hamilton: ...The Big Risk...

Scarlett Gray: ...and Hot Dice...

All four: (in unison) ...HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

======================================================================

(drum roll)

Scarlett: This is Eddie Timanus, a sports journalist from Virginia.

In a tremendous display of broad knowledge and good luck, he has earned CY$65,700 and won three straight games.

Scarlett: If he can win this next game, he'll play the Mega Roll for a possible CY$1,000,000.

How much longer will his winning ways continue? Find out now -- on Hot Dice.

Scarlett: I just broke my resolution -- twice.

(audience laughs)

Scarlett: It's 2012 and time to play -- Hot Dice.

Scarlett: From CDM Enterprises, a division of Trax Productions, here's your host for Hot Dice, Doug Morris.

(audience cheers)

Doug: Helloooooo, everybody and welcome to Hot Dice. Scarlett Gray, our announcer, don't feel bad. I've broken three resolutions -- all within the first five minutes of the year.

(audience laughs)

Doug: We hope this little bit of silliness can break up the tension. Because right out of the gate, we have a big game. Let's meet our players -- Eddie and Deo.

(audience cheers)

Doug: First of all, we really didn't get a chance to meet you, Deo, on the last show -- because when we started the game, we were running against the clock and trying to rush through it.

We've got time on our side now. So tell us all about yourself, Deo.

Deo: My name's Deo. I'm 13. I'm a middle school student from Indonesia. I love game show, basketball and math. Currently I'm preparing for my net games show.

Doug: Well, welcome to the neighborhood. Good luck to you today. You banked CY$3200 on the last show -- which was not enough to win. So you have one loss against you.

Now to big winner so far in this young series -- Eddie Timanus. So far, CY$65,700 to the good and three straight wins. Four straight wins mean the Mega Roll. Since you're on the verge of the Mega Roll, we give you a chance to send shout outs to friends and loved ones.

Eddie: Sure. First of all a big hello to my lovely wife, Kelli. Then to my mom and dad in Virginia. And finally, to my old friend Alex -- who I think was involved with some other show involving dice at some point, wasn't he? (a few laughs from the crowd) Way ta chase down that burglar, big guy!

Doug: I think I know which Alex and which show you're talking about. Nice to see him make recovery from that unfortunate moment. Let us now set up for this big game of Hot Dice.

(ding)

Now Eddie and Deo know how to play our game. For those of you who don't,the object of Hot Dice is to win a toss-up question and build a pot of cyber-money by rolling the dice.

After we play six rounds, we go to a catch-up round. The player who banks more cyber-money at the end of the catch-up round wins the game.

You keep playing until you lose two games. And if you win four consecutive games, you roll for a million.

First question in this important game is on the way. Hands on the buzzers please, good luck to you both, play carefully -- and away we go.

"Soul Train", "Club MTV" or "American Bandstand". Which of these shows would you most likely see a couple of dancers play a game called Scramble Board?

(Eddie buzzes in)

Doug: Eddie.

Eddie: A guess -- Club MTV.

Doug: Guess didn't pay off, I'm afraid. "Soul Train" had the Scramble Board game. So that means Deo wins the question -- and a free roll of the dice. Deo, please go ahead and toss those cubes.

(Deo rolls)

Doug: Five and four add up to nine. We'll multiply that sum by CY$100 and seed the pot with CY$900.

Deo, as you know, you may bank the CY$900 or roll again. For the rest of this round, if the dice total seven at any time, the cyber-money in the pot disappears and you'll bust -- scoring nothing for the round.

Also after the free roll, the double decision board is now active.

Doug: The screens on the double decision board hide cyber-cash amounts, surprises and, unfortunately, a bust. If you roll a double, you'll have the decision to make: Have us add CY$100 per point to the pot or take whatever's behind the corresponding space on the double decision board.

Right now, your decision is bank the CY$900 and start a new round -- or gamble it all on the next roll of the dice.

(audience shouts suggestions)

Deo: Let 'em roll.

(Deo rolls)

(audience cheers)

Doug: Wow -- big roll. An 11. Pot is suddenly up to CY$2000. If you feel a hot roll is in progress, toss the cubes again. If you're thinking a 7's next, now's the time to bank.

(audience shouts suggestions)

Deo: Let's put those 2 bigs on the bank.

Doug: You heard the man. CY$2000 into his bank.

(ding) (audience cheers)

Doug: Now remember -- when you bank cyber-money, it is yours to keep regardless of how you finish in the game. Next round starts now with this next question.

Clarence, Campbell or Cupp. What did the C. stand for in the late actor's name George C. Scott?

(Eddie buzzes in)

Doug: Eddie.

Eddie: Clarence.

Doug: Sorry it was Campbell. George Campbell Scott. That means Deo gets another free roll of the dice.

(Deo rolls)

Doug: Four and three at any other time add up to bad news. But you're immune from busting out on the free roll. So we have CY$700 in the pot. You may bank the seven bills or roll again.

(audience shouts suggestions)

Deo: Roll!

(Deo rolls)

(a few groans from the crowd)

Doug: Well, it's better than a bust. Three and one for CY$400 more. Bank the 11 bills or roll for more thrills?

(audience shouts suggestions)

Deo: Let's have my score at 3100 instead of 2000. Bank.

Doug: Banking another CY$1100.

(ding)

Doug: Deo indeed up to 3100. Eddie yet to score. Time for Round 3 and this question.

Jeff Altman, Jeff Foxworthy or Jeff Hammond. Who had the not-so-dubious distinction of hosting an NBC variety show featuring a duo of Japanese female singers?

(Eddie buzzes in)

Doug: Eddie.

Eddie: Jeff Altman?

Doug: Third time's the charm. Ya got it. (audience applause) The show was "Pink Lady and Jeff". With the likely exception of hot tub time, less said the better.

(Eddie rolls)

Doug: Eddie couldn't wait to take the free roll -- and I don't blame him. Eddie, the dice came up five and three for a seeding of CY$800 to the pot. Now somewhere on the double decision board, we've got CY$3000 waiting to be won. So anything's still possible.

Want to bank the 800 or roll again?

(audience shouts suggestions)

Eddie: Definitely rolling.

(Eddie rolls)

Doug: Oh, a 3 and 4 take away the 800 in the pot. No score this round.

Doug: Score remains 3100 to nothing in Deo's favor. Already in Round 4. Hands back on the buzzers, please.

Nobody on Hot Dice expects a question about the Spanish Inquisition -- but here goes. Did the Spanish Inquisition end for good in the 1600s, the 1700s or the 1800s?

(Eddie buzzes in)

Doug: Eddie.

Eddie: I'll say the 1800s.

Doug: Ended in 1834. Another free roll for you. (audience applause)

(Eddie rolls)

Doug: Double threes -- but the double decision board is inactive on the free roll. After all, there might be worth something worth less than CY$600, including a bust, in the double three screen on the board.

So, Eddie, you may bank CY$600 -- or roll again. We're in Round 4 and Deo is leading by CY$3100.

(audience shouts suggestions)

Eddie: Lots of catching up to do and running out of rounds. Let's roll 'em...
